Retail sales in Lithuania increased by 5.8% year-on-year in June 2026, slowing from a revised 6.9% rise in May and marking the weakest annual growth since February.

Growth moderated in several key categories: retail trade excluding automotive sales (9.3% vs 9.6% in May) and non-food products overall (12.5% vs 14.3%). Within non-food, slower growth was recorded for textiles, clothing, and footwear (11.4% vs 12.7%); audio, video, hardware, furniture, and lighting (14.4% vs 16.4%); and information and communication equipment, cultural and recreation goods, watches, and jewellery (2.6% vs 5.1%).

Retail activity via mail order houses and the internet also cooled, with growth decelerating to 14.6% from 19.8%. Meanwhile, sales of automotive fuel fell further, dropping 6.9% after a 3.5% decline in May.

In contrast, sales strengthened in several segments: other goods in non-specialized stores (34% vs 24.1%), food, beverages, and tobacco (4.7% vs 3.1%), and pharmaceuticals, medical goods, and cosmetics (11.9% vs 10.4%).

On a monthly basis, retail sales rose 0.3% in June, rebounding from a revised 1% decline in May.
