Mongolia’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 13.0% year-on-year in July 2026, up from 12.0% in June, marking the highest level since December 2022. Price pressures strengthened across several major categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (25.5% vs 24.8% in June), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (12.6% vs 12.0%), transport (10.0% vs 5.7%), clothing and footwear (7.2% vs 7.0%), furnishings, household equipment and tools (8.7% vs 8.0%), health (7.5% vs 7.2%), recreation and culture (6.6% vs 5.5%), restaurants and hotels (16.2% vs 15.2%), and miscellaneous goods and services (9.8% vs 9.1%).

By contrast, inflation eased slightly for housing and utilities (5.1% vs 5.3%), while remaining unchanged for communication (1.6%), education (12.8%), and insurance and financial services (17.0%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.9% in July, a marginal slowdown from the 1.0% rise recorded in the previous month.
