European equities ended Monday’s session little changed, extending the previous week’s losses against a challenging macroeconomic backdrop for the region’s key sectors. The Euro STOXX 50 slipped 0.1% to 6,455, while the broader STOXX Europe 600 finished virtually flat at 654.

Sovereign bond yields on longer-dated maturities across core Eurozone economies hovered near multi-decade highs, mirroring moves in US Treasuries. The rise reflects mounting concerns over higher deficit spending in Washington and fears that the Federal Reserve may be too slow to counter persistently elevated inflation.

Within equities, AI infrastructure names traded lower ahead of Nvidia’s earnings report due after Wednesday’s close. Infineon and Siemens Energy each declined around 3%, while ASML slipped 1%. By contrast, most banking stocks advanced, partially clawing back losses recorded earlier in the week.
