Frankfurt’s DAX 40 rose 0.4% to climb above 25,470 on Tuesday after a hesitant start, mirroring gains across other European markets. Sentiment, however, remained cautious amid rising oil prices and elevated bond yields, as US–Iran negotiations appear to be deadlocked. According to Bloomberg, Iranian officials have privately voiced pessimism about the chances of reaching an agreement with Washington before the US midterm elections in November.

Technology stocks led the advance, with chipmakers among the strongest performers. Infineon Technologies gained 2.2% and AI-focused Siemens Energy added 1.7%, after a Reuters report said that Anthropic is betting on artificial intelligence to reshape the global economy and intends to tap public markets to finance its expansion. Banks and industrials also posted solid gains, while utilities and pharma & healthcare stocks underperformed.

Fresenius Medical Care dropped 2%, making it the weakest performer on the index, after Berenberg cut its price target to €42 from €60 and removed its buy recommendation.
