European stocks advanced for a third straight session on Tuesday, with the STOXX 50 up 0.5% and the STOXX 600 gaining 0.7%. Investors largely shrugged off rising oil prices and continued tensions between the US and Iran, even as bond yields held near multi-year highs.

Technology shares were among the strongest performers, led by semiconductor stocks after a Reuters report that Anthropic is making a major wager on AI’s potential to transform the global economy, with public markets expected to help fund its expansion. ASML Holding (+2.8%), STMicroelectronics (+2.5%), Schneider Electric (+2.3%) and Infineon Technologies (+2.0%) were among the leading gainers. Legrand also jumped 5.8% after raising its medium-term targets.

In contrast, industrials and the food & beverages sector came under pressure. Vinci (-3.3%), Ocado (-3.2%), Vestas (-3.4%) and ThyssenKrupp (-2.9%) were among the weakest performers on the STOXX 600.
