Industrial production in Serbia declined by 0.5% year-on-year in August 2026, moderating from a 2.3% fall in July and marking a second consecutive month of contraction. Manufacturing output fell by 1.8% (after a 1.6% decline in July), while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply increased by 0.8% (versus an 8.8% drop in July), and mining and quarrying expanded by 6.7% (compared with 3.0% previously).

By main industrial groupings, the production of durable consumer goods shrank by 12.1% (after a 7.9% decrease), output of intermediate goods excluding energy fell by 1.3% (after a 0.3% increase), and production of non-durable consumer goods edged down by 0.5% (following a 5.1% decline). In contrast, energy output rose by 0.8% (after a 7.5% drop), while production of capital goods inched up by 0.1% (following strong growth of 8.8% in July).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, total industrial production fell by 0.6% in August, reversing a 0.3% increase in July, with manufacturing output down 1.0%. Over the January–August 2026 period, industrial production was 0.1% higher than in the same period of the previous year.
