India's foreign exchange reserves decreased as on August 20, a latest report from the Reserve Bank of India showed on Friday.

Foreign exchange reserves totaled US$282.549 billion as on August 20, down from US$282.791 billion as on August 13. Foreign currency assets reserves decreased to US$256.369 billion from US$261.591 billion last week. At the same time, the gold reserves remained unchanged at US$19.278 billion.

Meanwhile, nation's reserve position with the International Monitory Fund amounted to US$1.931 billion, smaller than the US$1.937 billion recorded in the preceding week.
