20.11.202512:11:35UTC+00Canada Small Business Confidence Rises to 11-Month High

In November 2025, Canada's CFIB Business Barometer long-term index, which measures expectations for business performance over the next 12 months, climbed to 55.5, up from an upwardly revised 46.7 in October. This marked the highest reading since December 2024, indicating a partial recovery in small business optimism. This optimism was bolstered by the anticipation of reduced price pressures, despite persistent challenges and uncertainties in 2025. The short-term optimism index, reflecting expectations for the next three months, also saw a modest increase, rising by 1.2 points to reach 46.0. Long-term business confidence witnessed improvements in most provinces, with the exception of Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island, where levels remained relatively stable. Across different sectors, optimism generally increased, though the health, education, and agriculture sectors did not share in this positive trend.
