In November 2025, Norway saw an increase in the seasonally adjusted number of individuals registered as unemployed, reaching 65,100 from an upwardly revised 64,700 in the preceding month. This marked the highest unemployment figure since January 2022, representing 2.2% of the nation's workforce. The rise in unemployment affected most occupational sectors, with tourism and transportation experiencing the highest rates at 3%, while academic professions had the lowest at 0.8%. Regionally, Oslo and Østfold reported the highest unemployment rates at 2.8%, whereas Troms and Nordland had the lowest figures at 1.2% and 1.4%, respectively. Despite this, labor demand remained robust, with 33,600 job vacancies announced in November, averaging 2,000 per working day, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the previous year. These vacancies were predominantly in health, nursing and care, retail and sales, service industries, and related fields. On a non-adjusted basis, the count of fully unemployed individuals rose to 62,000 in November, up from 61,300 in October.
