Bulgaria's industrial production experienced a 7.7% decline in October 2025 compared to the same month the previous year, following an upwardly revised 5.7% decrease in September. This represents the eleventh straight month of contraction. The downturn intensified in the manufacturing sector, which fell by 6.5% compared to a marginal 0.1% in September. Significant reductions were observed in the production of food products, which plummeted by 22.4%, beverages by 15.2%, and chemical products by 14.4%. Conversely, the mining and quarrying sector saw a less severe contraction at 10.7%, improving from an 18.9% decline, while the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector contracted by 10.9%, a considerable improvement from a previous 25% decrease. On a seasonally adjusted month-over-month basis, industrial production dropped by 2.1% in October, negating a previously revised 2.9% increase from the previous period.
