In November 2025, Australia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 4.3%, slightly below market projections of 4.4%. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 2,100 to reach 662,300, compared to 664,400 in October. Notably, there was a reduction of 7,600 individuals seeking part-time employment, bringing that total to 216,000, while the count of those pursuing full-time positions rose by 5,500 to 446,300. In a surprising turn, employment figures dipped by 21,300 to 14.66 million, contrary to predictions for a 20,000 increase, after an adjusted rise of 41,200 in October. Full-time job numbers declined significantly by 56,500 to 10.08 million, although part-time employment saw an increase of 35,200, reaching 4.58 million. The participation rate also slightly decreased to 66.7% from October's 66.9%, falling short of the expected 67.0% and marking its lowest level in eight months. The underemployment rate rose to 6.2%, up from 5.7% in October. Furthermore, the total monthly hours worked across all jobs saw a decrease of 1 million hours, settling at 1,996 million.
