The Philippines experienced a slowdown in manufacturing production, registering a 1.4% growth year-on-year in November 2025, compared to a revised 1.5% increase the month before. This represents the slowest expansion in industrial activity since July. Notably, output decreases were observed in several sectors, including computer, electronic, and optical products, which fell to 16.1% from 17.4% in October. The food products sector also saw a decline, dropping to 4.3% from 8.6%, while basic pharmaceutical products and preparations fell sharply to 9.3% from 20.5%. Additional declines were observed in wood, bamboo, cane, and rattan products (6.6% from 14.9%) and transport equipment (0.4% from 1.1%). Contrastingly, there were contractions in textiles (-11.8% from 6.3%), furniture (-14.9% from 7.5%), and rubber and plastic products (-5.3% from 1.7%). Conversely, the sectors that showed increased activity include electric equipment, which rose to 12% from 1.5%, tobacco products increasing to 15.7% from 9.3%, and leather and related products, including footwear, which surged to 28.3% from 21%. Seasonally adjusted figures indicate a 3.2% decline in industrial activity in November, following a 0.4% drop in the previous period.
