In January 2026, Turkey's manufacturing sector operated at 74.1% of its production capacity, a slight decline from 74.4% in the previous month. This figure represents the lowest reading since September of the previous year, indicating reduced industrial activity at the year's outset. The primary decreases in capacity utilization were observed in durable consumer goods, which fell to 65.5% from 68.5% in December 2025, and in consumer goods generally, which dropped to 71.2% from 72%. Additionally, there were reductions in the capacity for non-durable consumer goods (now at 72.4% compared to 72.7%), food and beverages (down to 72.8% from 73.1%), intermediate goods (dipping to 75.2% from 75.3%), and investment goods (falling to 71.5% from 71.7%).
