In January 2026, Angola's annual inflation rate further decreased to 14.56% from 15.70% in December. This marks the lowest increase observed since August 2023 and aligns with the ongoing downward trend since August 2024. A key contributor to this reduction has been the stability of the kwanza. Most sectors experienced a slowdown in inflation, with notable declines in food and non-alcoholic beverages (14.89% compared to 16.15% in December 2025), clothing and footwear (13.00% versus 14.34%), housing and utilities (16.60% versus 17.01%), as well as furnishings and household equipment (13.18% against 14.30%). On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.68% in January, following a 0.95% increase in the previous month.
