10.02.202607:18:01UTC+00Sweden New Orders Ease to 3-Month Low

Total orders received by Swedish industry increased by 6.8% year-on-year in December 2025, a sharp deceleration from the downwardly revised 19.4% growth recorded in November. This was the weakest growth rate since September. The slowdown was mainly driven by a marked moderation in orders from foreign customers (7.1% vs 27.1% in November), which more than offset stronger growth in orders from domestic customers (7.7% vs 5.4%).

By industrial group, demand for capital goods weakened significantly (4.5% vs 70.4%), while orders for durable consumer goods continued to contract (-5.7% vs -1.1%). In contrast, orders for intermediate goods rebounded (12.8% vs -6%), and the decline in energy-related goods orders eased considerably (-9% vs -28.7%).

On a monthly basis, new orders fell by 7.9% in December, reversing an 8.8% increase in November. For the full year 2025, total industrial orders were 7.5% higher than in the previous year, with domestic orders up 3.4% and export orders rising 10.3%.
