Industrial production in Slovenia decreased by 4.1% year-on-year in December 2025, widening from a 1.8% drop in November and marking the sharpest contraction since June. Manufacturing output fell markedly, down 4.5% after a 1.5% decline in the previous month. Production in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply also remained in negative territory, although the rate of decline moderated (-1.4% vs. -6.9% in November). At the same time, growth in mining and quarrying slowed notably, easing to 2.5% from 9.2% previously.

By main industrial groupings, output contracted for intermediate goods (-1.7%), capital goods (-2.5%) and consumer goods (-9.8%). On a month-on-month basis, overall industrial activity fell 1.4% in December, following a 0.4% decline in November. For the full year 2025, industrial production was 1.8% lower than in the previous year.
