19.02.202610:05:37UTC+00Poland Corporate Wage Growth at Near 5-Year Low

In January 2026, average wages in Poland’s corporate sector rose by 6.1% year-on-year to PLN 9,002.47, undershooting market expectations of 7.2% and slowing from 8.6% growth in December. This was the weakest annual wage increase since February 2021, reflecting a broad-based moderation across most industries, particularly manufacturing (5.9% vs 8.8%), agriculture, forestry, hunting, and fishing (2.7% vs 36.9%), and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (2.6% vs 13%). On a monthly basis, the average gross salary fell by 6.1%, reversing a 5.6% rise in December. The monthly drop largely reflected the absence of one-off payments that had boosted wages in December 2025, including Christmas bonuses and awards for Miners’ Day, as well as lower discretionary, annual, performance-related, and anniversary bonuses.
