12.03.202608:00:00UTC+00Namibia’s Inflation Eases to 2.4% in February, Lowest Annual Pace So Far in 2026

Namibia’s consumer price inflation cooled in February 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) slowing to 2.40%, down from 2.90% in January 2026. The latest reading, updated on 12 March 2026, points to a further easing in price pressures in the early part of the year.

Both the current and previous figures are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring how prices in each month changed relative to the same month a year earlier. The February 2026 CPI thus reflects how consumer prices evolved compared with February 2025, while the January 2026 CPI was measured against January 2025.

The deceleration from 2.90% to 2.40% suggests that inflationary pressures are moderating, a development that could influence expectations around monetary policy, real incomes, and consumption trends in Namibia as 2026 progresses.
