Palestine’s trade deficit widened to USD 539.2 million in January 2026, up from USD 475.4 million in January 2025, marking the largest gap since September 2023. Imports climbed 15% year-on-year to USD 710.4 million, primarily reflecting a 26% surge in purchases from Israel, which accounted for 61% of total imports, while imports from other countries inched up by 1%. Exports grew 22% to USD 171.2 million, driven by a 26% increase in shipments to Israel, which made up 93% of total exports; by contrast, exports to other countries declined by 15%.
