31.03.202610:44:39UTC+00WTI Crude Rises Toward $105

WTI crude oil futures climbed toward $105 per barrel as tensions in the Gulf intensified. Iran struck the Kuwaiti oil tanker Al-Salmi near Dubai, damaging its hull and signaling a willingness to escalate attacks on energy infrastructure. Tehran has repeatedly targeted vessels across the Gulf since the conflict began.

At the same time, reports suggest President Donald Trump may halt US military operations inside Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, instead concentrating on degrading Iran’s naval and missile capabilities. Trump has alternated between threats of further escalation—including possible strikes on Iranian power plants and oil facilities—and indications that hostilities could soon wind down.

US crude has surged more than 50% this month, marking its strongest monthly rally since May 2020. Markets remain on edge over US troop deployments, the risk of ground operations, and a series of regional attacks, including reported Israeli strikes on Tehran and Saudi interceptions of drones.
