11.05.202606:00:00UTC+00Norway’s Annual Inflation Slips to 3.4% in April, Extending Cooling Trend

Norway’s consumer price inflation eased to 3.4% year-over-year in April 2026, down from 3.6% in March, confirming a gradual cooling trend in price pressures. The latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading, updated on 11 May 2026, measures the change in prices compared with April a year earlier, while the March figure reflected the change versus March of the previous year.

The back-to-back declines in the annual CPI rate suggest inflationary momentum continues to moderate, offering some relief after an extended period of elevated price growth. Although still above the low inflation levels seen before recent global price shocks, the April data will likely be interpreted as a sign that underlying pressures in the Norwegian economy are slowly receding on a year-over-year basis. Investors and policymakers will now watch upcoming releases closely to gauge whether the disinflation trend can be sustained in the months ahead.
