26.05.202606:00:00UTC+00Sweden’s Producer Prices Accelerate in April, Signalling Rising Cost Pressures

Sweden’s Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 1.1% month-over-month in April 2026, up from a 0.6% increase in March 2026, indicating a firming in upstream price pressures across the economy. The latest data, updated on 26 May 2026, show that producer prices are climbing at nearly double the pace seen in the previous month.

On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” April reading measures the change in producer prices compared with March, while the “previous” figure reflects March’s change versus February. The acceleration from 0.6% to 1.1% suggests that production costs for Swedish manufacturers and suppliers are rising more quickly, a development that could eventually feed through to consumer prices if businesses pass on these higher input costs.

The stronger PPI reading will be closely watched by markets and policymakers, as sustained increases in producer prices can signal building inflationary pressures in the broader economy. For now, April’s data highlight a clear uptick in cost dynamics at the producer level relative to earlier in the year.
