28.05.202609:00:00UTC+00Iceland’s Inflation Eases Slightly in May as CPI Growth Slows to 5.1% YoY

Iceland’s consumer price inflation edged down in May 2026, with the year-over-year CPI reading slowing to 5.1%, according to data updated on 28 May 2026. This compares with a 5.2% annual increase recorded in April 2026, signaling a marginal but continued easing in price pressures.

Both the current and previous figures are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s consumer prices to the same month a year earlier. While the decline from April’s level is modest, the latest data suggests that inflationary momentum may be gradually losing strength in Iceland as the second quarter of 2026 progresses.
