22.06.202623:07:49UTC+00Australia Factory Growth Picks Up in June

The S&P Global Australia Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.2 in June 2026 from 50.7 in May, according to preliminary estimates. This marked a third consecutive month of expansion, underpinned by modest job gains. However, output continued to edge lower, with the rate of contraction broadly unchanged from the previous month, and new orders also declined. Supplier delivery times lengthened as some vendors consolidated shipments to cut transport costs. On the pricing side, input costs increased, driven by higher fuel and transportation expenses, and firms raised output prices accordingly, although the pace of inflation slowed from the previous month. Looking ahead, business confidence improved, supported by planned expansions and optimism over future new orders.
