10.07.202606:18:03UTC+00European Stocks Set for Muted Open

European equity markets were set for a muted open on Friday as investors continued to weigh developments in the Middle East and their impact on inflation and monetary policy. Reports indicated that the US and Iran will press ahead with peace negotiations despite a recent flare-up in hostilities that disrupted energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and reignited inflation worries. On Thursday, European stocks closed higher, supported by a rebound in technology shares. Attention now turns to final June inflation readings from Germany and France, as well as May industrial production data from Italy and Turkey. In premarket trading, Euro Stoxx 50 futures edged down 0.2%, while Stoxx 600 futures were little changed.
