Denmark’s annual inflation rate held steady at 1.9% in June 2026, unchanged from May and remaining at its highest level since December. Transportation costs continued to be the primary driver of overall price growth, rising 4.5% year-on-year after a 5.3% increase in May, largely reflecting a sharp jump in diesel prices (22.3% vs 30.8%).

Additional upward pressure came from higher prices for clothing and footwear (2.3% vs 0.1%), housing and utilities (0.5% vs 0.4%), information and communication (4.6% vs 4.2%), and restaurants and accommodation services (5.7% vs 4.9%).

These gains were partly offset by a deeper decline in food prices, which fell 0.9% following a 0.3% drop in May. Inflation also eased for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.6% vs 1.9%) and for recreation, sport, and culture (2.8% vs 3.5%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2% in June, slowing from a 0.6% rise in May. Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, edged up to 2.3% in May from 2.1% in the previous month.
