Argentina’s trade surplus widened to $2.19 billion in June 2026, up from $0.88 billion in the same month a year earlier, extending its streak of positive trade balances to 31 consecutive months. Exports increased 24.5% year-on-year to $9.06 billion, with gains recorded across all major categories. Exports of agricultural manufactures jumped 31.6%, driven by stronger shipments of fats and oils, residues and waste from the food industry, and meat products. Industrial manufactures rose 31.4%, supported mainly by chemicals and related products, along with base metals and metal products. Exports of fuels and energy climbed 31.1%, as higher international prices more than offset lower export volumes.

Imports grew 7.3% to $6.86 billion, led by fuels and lubricants, whose purchases surged 126.3%. Imports of intermediate goods increased 9.5%, while consumer goods advanced 3.3%. By contrast, imports of capital goods fell 8.0%, parts and accessories for capital goods declined 9.4%, and motor vehicle imports dropped 10.6%.
