24.07.202612:30:00UTC+00Canadian New Housing Price Declines Ease in June, Signaling Tentative Stabilization

Canada’s New Housing Price Index showed a slower pace of decline in June 2026, suggesting tentative signs of stabilization in the country’s new home market. The index fell 0.1% month-over-month in June, following a 0.3% drop in May 2026, according to data updated on 24 July 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” figure for June reflects price changes compared with May, while the “previous” measure captures May’s movement relative to April. The moderation from a 0.3% decrease to a 0.1% decrease indicates that while new housing prices are still under pressure, the downward momentum has weakened.

Investors and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases closely to see whether June’s softer decline marks the beginning of a broader stabilization in Canada’s new housing market or a temporary pause in a longer adjustment phase.
