30.07.202601:00:00UTC+00Philippines’ Trade Deficit Narrows in June, Easing to $4.94 Billion

The Philippines’ trade deficit narrowed in June 2026, offering a modest improvement in the country’s external position. According to the latest data updated on 30 July 2026, the trade balance stood at -4,939.0 million dollars, compared with a deficit of -5,481.0 million dollars in May 2026.

The reduced gap suggests that either export performance improved, import demand softened, or a combination of both occurred during June. While the trade balance remains firmly in deficit, the month-on-month narrowing may be seen by markets as a tentative sign of easing external pressures on the Philippine economy.

Investors and policymakers will be watching upcoming data to see whether June’s improvement marks the start of a sustained trend or a temporary adjustment in the country’s trade dynamics.
