Moldova’s annual inflation rate eased to 6.3% in July 2026 from 6.5% in June, the lowest level in four months. The slowdown was driven mainly by weaker food inflation (5.2% vs. 5.7%), as vegetable prices decelerated sharply. Inflation also moderated for bread, meat, and eggs, while prices for fresh fruit and dairy products picked up slightly. Non-food inflation was broadly unchanged (6.6% vs. 6.5%), with fuel and lubricants remaining the main source of upward pressure (18.7% vs. 19.1%). Services inflation edged down marginally (7.35% vs. 7.43%), even as passenger transport costs accelerated (28.7% vs. 27.7%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.1% in July 2026, repeating the 0.1% decline recorded in the previous month.
