U.S. crude oil inventories increased by 4.405 million barrels in the week ended August 14, reaching 428.8 million barrels and marking the third consecutive weekly build. Stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub declined by 1.314 million barrels over the same period.

Refinery crude runs rose by 216,000 barrels per day.

U.S. gasoline inventories grew by 0.688 million barrels to 209.4 million barrels, while distillate stockpiles—which include diesel and heating oil—fell by 1.53 million barrels to 105.6 million barrels. Net U.S. crude imports decreased by 1.754 million barrels per day.
