20.08.202612:30:00UTC+00Canada’s IPPI Holds Steady at 12.4% YoY in July, Matching June’s Pace

Canada’s Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI) registered a year-over-year increase of 12.4% in July 2026, unchanged from June’s revised reading of 12.4%. The latest data, updated on 20 August 2026, indicate that producer price pressures remained elevated and stable over the start of the second half of the year.

On a year-over-year basis, the “actual” figure for July compares price levels in July 2026 with those in July 2025, while the “previous” figure for June reflected the change versus June 2025. The identical readings in June and July suggest that, at least for now, the upward momentum in industrial product prices has plateaued rather than accelerated or eased.

The steady 12.4% gain keeps producer-level inflation at a historically high rate, with implications for corporate margins, contract pricing, and potentially downstream consumer inflation, depending on how much of these cost pressures are passed along the supply chain in the coming months.
