21.08.202607:20:21UTC+00Turkey Factory Capacity Usage at 5-Month Low

Turkey’s manufacturing sector operated at 73.5% of its production capacity in August 2026, down from 73.9% in July. This was the lowest utilization rate since March, with the decline largely driven by investment goods: capacity use in this segment dropped sharply to 69.7% from 71.2%, indicating weaker activity in capital-intensive industries and potentially softer investment demand. Capacity utilization in the food and beverage sector also fell, to 71.4% from 72.0%. Intermediate goods remained the strongest-performing category, although their utilization eased slightly to 74.7% from 74.9%. Utilization in non-durable consumer goods edged down to 72.2% from 72.3%. By contrast, overall consumer goods utilization inched up to 71.6% from 71.4%, supported by durable consumer goods, where capacity use increased to 68.2% from 67.1%.
