01.09.202604:30:00UTC+00Dutch Inflation Inches Higher in August, Reversing Recent Cooling Trend

The Netherlands’ consumer price inflation edged up in August 2026, with the year-over-year CPI rising to 3.3%, according to data updated on 1 September 2026. This marks a slight acceleration from July 2026, when the annual inflation rate stood at 3.2%.

The figures, measured on a year-over-year basis, show that price pressures have firmed modestly after a period of gradual easing. The “previous” reading reflects the change in prices in July compared with July a year earlier, while the “actual” August figure compares prices in August with the same month a year ago.

While the uptick from 3.2% to 3.3% is marginal, it suggests that progress in cooling inflation remains uneven. Investors and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases closely to gauge whether August’s move is a brief interruption in the disinflation trend or the start of a more persistent plateau in Dutch price growth.
