Colombia’s Davivienda Manufacturing PMI climbed to 54.3 in August 2026 from 52.7 in July, marking the strongest improvement in factory activity since October 2025. New orders expanded at their fastest pace in more than two and a half years, while output growth accelerated to its highest rate since February. Finished goods inventories fell for the sixth consecutive month as firms drew down existing stocks to meet demand. In contrast, manufacturers raised their input purchases and input inventories, with purchasing activity reaching its highest level since data collection began in April 2011. Supplier delivery delays eased, despite some disruptions linked to recent earthquakes. Input cost inflation slowed to its lowest level of the year, whereas output price inflation edged up. Employment increased for a fifth straight month, and backlogs of work declined for a seventh month. Business confidence jumped to its highest level since July 2019, boosted by optimism about the new government administration and expectations of stronger demand.
