02.09.202613:00:00UTC+00Singapore’s Manufacturing Pulse Edges Higher as August PMI Ticks Up to 51.5

Singapore’s manufacturing sector extended its modest expansion in August, with the S&P Global Manufacturing PMI inching up to 51.5 from 51.4 in July 2026.

The latest reading, released on 2 September 2026, marks a slight improvement in operating conditions and keeps the index above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction. July’s figure of 51.4 had already signalled a positive start to the third quarter for the sector.

While the gain from July to August is marginal, the continued move higher suggests that manufacturing activity in Singapore is maintaining steady forward momentum heading into the latter part of 2026. Investors and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases to gauge whether this gradual strengthening can be sustained in the face of evolving global economic conditions.
