Average monthly wages in the Czech Republic increased by 4.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from a nearly five‑year high of 6.4% in the previous quarter and undershooting market forecasts of a 5% rise. Although this marked the tenth consecutive quarter of real wage growth, it was the slowest pace since the first quarter of 2025.

The average gross nominal monthly wage in the national economy rose 6.4% from a year earlier to CZK 51,966. The fastest wage growth was recorded in administrative and support service activities (16.6%), public administration and defence; compulsory social security (9.0%), and arts, entertainment and recreation (8.7%). In contrast, increases were weakest in other service activities (0.2%) and in mining and quarrying (2.2%).

On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, average wages grew by 1.6%. For the first half of 2026 as a whole, the average wage reached CZK 50,650, representing a 6.2% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.
