11.09.202602:00:00UTC+00Indian Consumer Sentiment Climbs in September, PCSI Rises to 66.92

India’s consumer confidence strengthened in September 2026, according to the latest Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) data. The index rose to 66.92 in September from 65.26 in August, reflecting an improvement in sentiment on a month-over-month basis.

The data, updated on 11 September 2026, shows that the September reading is higher than the previous month’s level, indicating a positive shift in consumer perceptions compared with August. The “Actual” comparison measures this change versus the prior month, while the “Previous” comparison refers to how August’s change compared with July’s results.

With the PCSI now nearing 67, the latest figures suggest that Indian households are entering the autumn period with slightly more optimism than they had in late summer, as captured by the incremental rise from August to September.
