14.09.202606:00:00UTC+00Sweden’s CPIF Edges Up in August, Signaling Slight Easing of Deflationary Pressure

Sweden’s CPIF (consumer price index at constant interest rates) showed a marginal improvement in August, with month‑on‑month inflation rising to -0.2% from -0.3% previously. Both readings relate to August 2026, with the earlier figure reflecting the comparison between July and June, and the latest one comparing August to July. The data were updated on 14 September 2026.

The move from -0.3% to -0.2% indicates that prices are still declining on a monthly basis but at a slightly slower pace. In the context of the month‑over‑month comparison, the “actual” figure (-0.2%) shows a modest easing of deflationary pressure relative to the “previous” reading (-0.3%), which measured the change in the prior month.

While the CPIF remains in negative territory, the less pronounced contraction in August may be watched closely by market participants and policymakers as they assess the trajectory of Swedish consumer prices heading into the coming months.
