30.09.202602:11:04UTC+00China Stocks Gain on Upbeat PMIs, Fresh Policy Support

The Shanghai Composite added 0.3% to close at 3,843.1 on Wednesday, while the Shenzhen Component also rose 0.3% to 12,940.5, extending the previous session’s gains after fresh PMI data signaled an ongoing economic recovery.

Official figures showed China’s composite PMI increased to 50.7 in September 2026, its highest reading since December 2025, with both manufacturing (50.1 vs. 49.8) and non-manufacturing (50.2 vs. 49.0) returning to expansion. A separate private survey likewise reported an acceleration in activity, with the composite PMI rising to 52.1, supported by continued growth in manufacturing (52.1 vs. 51.5) and services (51.6 vs. 51.4).

The stronger data came as policymakers introduced new support measures, including mortgage subsidies and expanded central bank assistance. The State Council further pledged “a package of practical and effective additional policies” to help meet this year’s economic and social development objectives.

Among notable gainers, Foxconn Industrial Internet rose 1.4%, Zijin Mining Group advanced 0.9%, CATL added 0.6%, and Zhongji Innolight climbed 1.8%.
