Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economy grew by 2.4% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, edging up from 2.3% in the previous quarter. The expansion was driven by stronger activity in information and communication (5.5% vs. 2.3%), agriculture (1.8% vs. 1.1%), arts, entertainment and recreation (3.5% vs. 3.3%), and public administration, education, health and social work (2.8% vs. 1.9%).

Growth in construction (5.0% vs. 5.3%) and in wholesale and retail trade, transportation, and accommodation and food services (4.6% vs. 6.4%) moderated. Industrial activity remained in contraction, though the downturn eased (-2.5% vs. -2.9%).

On the expenditure side, final consumption (2.9% vs. 2.7%), gross capital formation (1.4% vs. 0.3%), exports (2.0% vs. 0.3%) and imports (2.4% vs. 0.7%) all accelerated, while household consumption growth slowed slightly (2.9% vs. 3.1%).

On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP rose by 0.5%, down from 0.8% in the previous quarter.
