Singapore’s economy expanded by 5.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2026, outpacing market expectations of 5% but easing from an upwardly revised 6.2% growth in Q2, according to advance estimates.

Growth in goods-producing industries slowed to 7.3% from 10.9% in the previous quarter. This reflected a deceleration in manufacturing, where growth eased to 7.5% from 12.9%, even as construction activity strengthened, accelerating to 8.8% from 6.1%.

Among services, activity in information and communications, finance and insurance, and professional services moderated to 4.3% from 5.1%. Similarly, growth in accommodation and food services, real estate, administrative and support services, and other services edged down to 2.1% from 2.4%.

Overall, services-producing industries maintained a steady growth rate of 5.2%, supported by faster expansion in wholesale and retail trade and in transportation and storage, which collectively grew by 8%, up from 6.9% in Q2.

On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP increased by 1.1%, the weakest pace since Q1 2025 and a moderation from the 1.5% growth recorded in Q2 2026.
