In April the annual CPI index dynamics in the euro area demonstrated an upmove by 2.6%, having thus decelerated versus 2.7%, recorded in the previous month. The April value is in line with consensus forecasts.


On a monthly basis, the consumer prices inflation rate in April amounted to 0.5%, confirming the flash predictions. In March the Eurozone prices growth was equal to 1.3%.


On the overall, the annual inflation rate in the Eurozone in April appeared lower than in March,


having declined to 2.7% from 2.9%. Month on month, the CPI index in the European Union in April ascended by 0.5%, the same as in the euro area.


Moreover, in March in Eurozone the trade balance surplus of 1.3 billion euro was recorded.


The published value exceeded the forecasts of experts, who considered the trade balance surplus to equal 4 billion euro. Seasonally adjusted, the Eurozone export in March fell by 0.9% versus February, and the import volume shrank by 1.1%.
