NZ Dollar Spikes Up Against Most Majors

During early European trading on Friday, the New Zealand dollar traded further higher against most of its major counterparts. At 4:05 am ET, the kiwi climbed to a near a 3-week high of 1.5981 versus the euro and a 2-day high of 67.45 versus the Japanese yen from Wednesday's closing values of 1.6016 and 67.24, respectively. Currently, the kiwi is worth 67.41 against the yen and 1.5990 versus the euro.

Against the US dollar, the NZ currency also edged up further in today's early European deals and hit a high of 0.8183 by about 4:05 am ET. The pair that closed yesterday's New York session at 0.8163 is now trading at 0.8178. On the upside, 0.8190 is seen as the next target level for the kiwi.
