The US labor data turned to be surprising and divergent.


On one hand, despite the analytical expectations of unemployment to stay unchanged, the indicator has eased by 0.1 point - to the value of 8.1%. From the other hand, the Department of Labor published information that jobs creation has reduced substantially to a 3-month low.


Dissapponted investors have switched to safe assets market provoking a surge of gold prices. In May the quotes of this preciuos metal have reversed to the upside for the first time from a 3-month low to 1645 US dollars per troy ounce.


Such investors reaction is quite logical under conditions of existing fears about the American economy. Oil cheapening does not seem surpising as well, as the United States is one of the world's biggest consumers of black gold. However, a sharp drop of oil quotes came like a thunder.


Thus, a barrel of WTI light sweet crude oil fell to a 3-month bottom of 96 dollars 60 cents. First time since February the price has gone below 100 dollars per barrel.
