2017.01.2006:38:00UTC+00WEF 2016: CEOs attribute job losses to robots

Open markets and worldwide trade have resulted in increasing unemployment rate over the last 10 years. But business leaders attributed it to robots.

During their annual convention at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, chief executive officers worldwide cautioned the extent of damages to jobs should be addressed more critically despite the technology's contribution to production.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Meg Whitman reiterated there will job losses and jobs will expand, saying it will be classless and will impact everyone.

For Microsoft Chief Executive Satya Nadella, he thinks they are now at a period they might need to look for other careers.

Based on the WEF's study on annual risks, economists project 86% of US manufacturing job losses are actually pointed to productivity.
