England and Wales house prices increased at a slower pace in July, a report by the Land Registry showed on Friday.

House prices increased 6.7% on an annual basis in July, but which was smaller than the figures seen in the previous months. However, house prices increased for the ninth consecutive month.

Month-on-month, house prices were up 0.4% in July. This was the strongest growth seen since January 2010, agency said. The average value of a property in England and Wales totaled GBP 166,798.

According to Land Registry, all 9 regions in England and Wales experienced increases in their average property values over the last 12 months. London showed a highest annual house prices of 12.1% in July, while house prices in South East grew 9.3%. House prices in Yorkshire & The Humber rose 3.4%. The region with the smallest annual price rise registered in the North West, by 0.3%.

Meanwhile, sales volumes averaged 48,219 in the February to May period, larger than 36,947 in the same period of the previous year.
