2018.09.1702:25:00UTC+00UK House Prices Recover In September: Rightmove

UK house prices recovered in September, property website Rightmove reportedly said Monday.

House prices gained 0.7 percent month-on-month in September after a 2.3 percent decrease.

Elsewhere, report from Acadata showed that house prices edged up 0.1 percent on month in August, taking the annual growth to 1.8 percent. Prices have logged 1.8 percent increase for the third straight month.

"Even in London, where an average increase was recorded over the month, homes in most boroughs are significantly cheaper in real terms than they were this time last year," Oliver Blake, managing director of Your Move and Reeds Rains estate agents said.

The average home in England and Wales is now worth GBP 303,199, up GBP 5,300 on the previous year, Acadata showed.

Last week, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney cautioned that house prices would fall up to 35 percent, in case of a no-deal Brexit.
