Japan will on Monday release final August figures for its leading and coincident indexes, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. Their previous readings were 106.8 and 117.6, respectively.

Japan also will see September numbers for department store sales; in August, nationwide sales were up 2.0 percent on year and Tokyo area sales were up an annual 3.6 percent.

Singapore will provide September figures for consumer prices; in August. Inflation is expected to add 0.1 percent on month and 0.5 percent on year after gaining 0.3 percent on month and 0.4 percent on year in August.

Hong Kong will see September numbers for consumer prices; in August, the inflation rate was 1.9 percent.

Finally, the markets in New Zealand and Thailand are closed on Monday, for Labor Day and Chulalongkorn Day, respectively.
