2010.07.2005:25:00UTC+00Taiwan Export Orders Growth Eases In June

Taiwan export orders grew at a pace of 22.48% in June from the same period of previous year, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said on Tuesday. The annual increase exceeded the consensus forecast of 21.7%. However, the growth rate eased from around 34% increase seen in the previous month. Compared to May, export orders rise 1.46% in June.

Exports of electronic products were up 26.91% annually and exports of chemicals increased 33.33%. Increase in machinery export was 34.52%.

Data issued by the Finance Ministry on July 8 showed an increase in Taiwan's exports in June. Exports climbed 34.1% year-on-year in June, much slower than the 57.9% increase in May. Electronic products topped the list of five most exported commodities with its shipments increasing 35.6% year-on-year.
